Sketchbook Parties

I host Sketchbook Parties in the DFW area where people of all ages and skill levels come together and create for the purpose of creating while surrounded by fellow artists. Established in October 2022, this project began with the intention of encouraging artists to make art outside of their classes or work, as well as encouraging people who may not identify as artists or may not make art regularly, to get in touch with their creative side and rediscover the child-like wonder they felt before deciding they were not artists. Since the first Sketchbook Party, I have seen both new and familiar faces returning event after event. I have observed people's creativity flourish and expand, along with their increased liberty to create art without any apprehension.
